Supporting the creation of an Agritech Observatory in Europe and Central Asia region

This week, the FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia launched the FAO Agritech Observatory, in which we operate as the implementation partner of the project. As Jengalab, we are supporting the FAO team in selecting and analyzing ICT-based solutions, good practices, and digital agriculture policies and initiatives in Europe and Central Asia. In particular, our focus will be on:

  • ICT-based solutions
  • Good agricultural practices involving the use of ICTs
  • Conducive policies for digital agriculture (in 2024)
  • Smart/digital villages (in 2024)
  • Digital agriculture projects (in 2024)

This project represents the first FAO open and digital agritech observatory of ICT-based solutions in the agricultural sector of these regions. The observatory uniformly presents solutions by dividing information into subject-based categories that can be used to filter the database. These categories make the observatory a user-friendly and easy-to-navigate platform.

The platform aims to reach innovators, policymakers, researchers, and other stakeholders to explore agritech solutions, good practices, policies, projects, and publications. The observatory can also aid in monitoring digital agriculture innovations, conducting regional and country-level analyses, shaping new policies and programs, and guiding investment decisions.
