COOPEN – impactful solutions between Italy and Africa

COOPEN is a participatory process of open innovation to implement impact solutions between Italy and Africa, facilitating partnerships between Civil Society Organisations and innovators between Italy and Africa. In recent years the initiatives implemented within Coopen have worked to respond to urgent needs in the fields of sustainable agriculture, health and well-being and circular economy. The projects have landed among the communities in Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Kenya, Senegal, and Uganda.

COOPEN is an open innovation programme promoted by Innovazione per lo Sviluppo.

Find calls, participate in incubation phases, have a mentoring experience in one of three areas: Food and Sustainable Agriculture, Circular Economy, Health and Well-being.

THE IMPACT OF COOPEN
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

Coopen focuses on three areas within the three Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Agenda 2030:

Zero Hunger (SDG 2), Health and Well-being (SDG 3), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12). Thanks to the promotion of innovative partnerships Coopen also pursues Partnerships to Achieve the Goals (SDG 17).

The countries we work in are: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Ethiopia (East Africa) and Senegal, Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger (West Africa).

The overall resources dedicated to Coopen are 1.8 million euros for 2020-2021.
